Over the past year, ACRIA Center at GMHC has been conducting listening sessions and collecting information about what older adults in NYC want in terms of services surrounding sexual health and wellness, as well as HIV services. We spoke with consumers throughout NYC, our own staff here at GMHC, and asked service providers of all sorts of services to send us their thoughts. And we want to share this information with everyone!
To do so, we created a white paper titled “Navigating Aging and HIV: Insights and Recommendations from Consumers and Providers.” In it, you can read about what consumers in NYC are saying about aging with HIV, sexual health and wellness services, and what kinds of services/improvements in services are needed for better health outcomes.
We are excited to share this information. The call from both consumers and providers for more information, more training, and more spaces to discuss these issues highlights the need for more age-specific services. At ACRIA, we aim to continue to work towards these goals while also collaborating with others to make sure people have the services they need in a way that meets them where they are at.
