NRCHA is pleased to announce we will be partnering again with CJE SeniorLife this fall to offer free, virtual exercise classes geared towards people aging with HIV plus their loved ones and allies. Descriptions and registration links for each class are below:
Bingocize
Monday and Wednesdays from October 11th through December 15th
11:00-12:00pm Central Time
Description: Bingocize is a combination of the familiar game of bingo with exercises focused on strength and balance. This class is specifically open to those who are members of the LGBTQ+ community and/or long-term HIV survivors and their friends and allies. Please join us for this fun way to get in some exercise, play Bingo, and win prizes!
SAIL
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays from October 4th through December 24th
3:00–3:45pm Central Time
Description: SAIL is a class designed for those who are not new to exercising and are looking for a more challenging exercise class. Each session will focus on aerobics, balance, strength training, and stretching. This class is specifically open to those who are members of the LGBTQ+ community and/or long-term HIV survivors and their friends and allies.
Additionally, CJE SeniorLife will be offering these free, virtual classes geared towards all older adults regardless of HIV status:
Healthy Moves
Description: This 30 minute exercise class is focused on building strength and balance. There’s no equipment necessary and all of the exercises are low impact.
For those are new or newer to exercise: Thursdays from October 7th through December 2nd at 11:00 – 11:30am Central Time
For those who are not new to exercise and/or those looking for more of an exercise challenge:
Tuesdays from October 5th through November 23rd
9:00 – 9:30am Central Time
Tai Chi
Tuesday and Thursdays from October 5th through November 22nd
6:00 – 6:45 pm Central Time
Description: Tai Chi is a graceful form of exercise used for stress reduction, fall prevention, and a variety of health conditions in which participants are guided through gentle, flowing movements and posture. Space is limited to only 15 people for this class geared for people living with any chronic medical condition. You’ll need to attend both Tuesday and Thursday sessions and will learn Tai Chi movements you can practice at home. You must register by October 4th or until spaces are filled in order to participate.
