Experience is the New Sexy
Social Media Marketing Campaign Toolkit
The ACRIA Center at GMHC is excited to unveil the “Experience is the New Sexy“ social marketing campaign. Launched in 2025, this community-centered campaign provides resources to expand targeted messaging for adults aged 50 and over. The marketing toolkit contains materials that reflect the experiences, needs, and voices of older adults. Our goal is to reach as many community members as possible so that everyone has access to the information and support they need.
Why this toolkit?
This toolkit was created by GMHC’s Healthy Literacy for Older Adults (H.L.A.) Program. It was produced to guide and support a multi-modal social marketing and information outreach campaign aimed at increasing awareness and knowledge about sexual health and wellness for older adults in New York City. Media assets and messaging are designed with a sex-positive lens to promote an anti-stigma message around sexuality at an older age.
Who is this toolkit for?
This toolkit is for agencies that work with or serve older adults living with HIV or at an elevated risk of HIV infection and who provide prevention, treatment, and support for STIs/HEP C in New York City. It’s designed to be used for both online and offline engagements. We recommend that agencies utilize both methods to reach a wide variety of audiences.
How can you be involved?
By downloading and using the toolkit to help us spread the word.
We would also love to work together to co-brand materials: reach out to ACRIA@gmhc.org to set up a meeting. And feel free to use what we have prepared here. We just ask that you please acknowledge ACRIA Center at GMHC as the originators of the campaign in some way.
