Newly Appointed “AIDS Czar” to Keynote National HIV/Aging Webinar

On September 14th, 2021, from 12pm-3PM EST, the National Resource Center on HIV and Aging will host its second webinar in honor of HIV/AIDS & Aging Awareness Day. This year, Harold Philips will be the keynote speaker. He was appointed by President Biden in June to be the Director of the US Office of National AIDS Policy (ONAP). This position has been historically referred to as the “AIDS Czar”.

This year the webinar is entitled “Shape the Future of the HIV Epidemic: Listen to the Needs & Challenges of Older Adults” and will focus on how the needs of older adults living with HIV will shape the USA epidemic. Today, older adults with HIV comprise over 50-60% of the total USA HIV population. As we enter the 40th year of this epidemic their voices need to be heard. Speakers from the community including long-term survivors, clinicians, program directors, and researchers will provide a portrait of the older adult living with HIV. To register, click here .
